Why We Introduced the Priory Law Buddy System
At Priory Law, we talk a lot about client care. But the truth is, the way we care for our clients starts with the way we care for each other.
Conveyancing is detailed, busy and often fast-moving. There are technical questions, time pressures, client conversations, lender requirements, deadlines and moments where it really helps to have someone alongside you who understands the work and can simply say, “Let’s talk it through.”
That is exactly why we introduced the Priory Law Buddy System.
Every three months, members of the team are paired together, usually matching an experienced fee earner with a trainee or conveyancing assistant. The purpose is simple: to make sure everyone has someone they can go to for guidance, reassurance, knowledge-sharing and day-to-day support.
The initiative creates dedicated space for people to ask questions, build confidence and learn from each other in a more structured and supportive way. It also encourages conversations that might otherwise get lost in the pace of a busy working day. What has been particularly lovely to see is how naturally the whole team has embraced it. The Buddy System is not about introducing formality for the sake of it. It is about making support visible. It is about creating an environment where asking for help is encouraged, sharing experience is valued and people feel they are developing together.
Celebrating Our First Buddy Pair Winners
This quarter, we were delighted to celebrate our very first Buddy Pair winners: Ryan Letts, Director & Head of Legal Practice and Amy Goodman, Head of Client Services.
Ryan and Amy were recognised for the time, consistency and genuine thought they invested into their buddy partnership. Their approach reflected exactly what we hoped the initiative would encourage, regular support, meaningful conversations and a shared commitment to helping each other grow with confidence.
Importantly, this recognition also reflects the wider culture being created across the business. The success of the Buddy System has come from the way the whole team has engaged with it, supported one another and embraced the spirit behind the initiative.
Building a Supportive Conveyancing Culture
As Anne-Marie Fowler, Managing Director of Priory Law, explains:
“As Priory Law continues to grow, it is incredibly important to me that we build the kind of business where people feel supported, encouraged and able to develop with confidence. Exceptional client service does not happen by accident, it comes from a team who feel valued, connected and cared for themselves. The Buddy System is a reflection of the culture we are creating at Priory Law. It is about sharing knowledge, making time for each other and ensuring that no one feels they have to work things out alone. I am so proud of how the whole team has embraced it, and delighted to recognise Ryan and Amy as our first Buddy Pair winners.”
At Priory Law, we believe strong teams create strong client experiences.
When people feel supported internally, that naturally shows in the way they communicate, problem-solve and care for clients. It creates confidence, consistency and a calmer, more thoughtful experience for everyone involved.
The Buddy System is one small but important part of how we continue to grow, not just as a conveyancing business, but as a team and culture.
Congratulations to Ryan and Amy, and thank you to the entire Priory Law team for embracing the initiative so positively.
